Celebrating 50 Years of Progress with 50 Women Athletes
Fifty years after Title IX, the landmark 1972 law that guaranteed women equal opportunities in education and sports, Bumble made the first move as one of the first brands to sponsor women athletes in a meaningful way. To honor the anniversary, Bumble signed 50 college athletes to equal-pay NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals, celebrating a new generation of women taking control of their image, voice, and financial independence.
I directed the visual system for the campaign, designing a deck of 50 illustrated trading cards and a 15-second launch animation that reimagined the nostalgia of sports collectibles for a new generation.
Typography
The letterforms carry much of the campaign’s personality, bold, fluid, and full of motion. Each athlete’s name was treated like a headline moment, giving them a sense of ownership and presence within the frame. That decision connected directly to Title IX’s core idea: that every woman deserves to be seen and celebrated.
Illustrations
The compositions paired real portraits with abstract, motion-inspired shapes and illustrations to capture the energy of athleticism and the spirit of individuality. The illustrated accents introduced movement, while bold backgrounds and typography grounded each layout. Together, these layers created a visual language that felt powerful, cohesive, and alive.

Color Palette
The color palette was developed by Bumble’s creative team and refined to bring more depth and vibrancy to the illustrations. The brand’s signature yellow was brightened to feel more energetic and modern, paired with natural accent tones.
My role was to apply the palette consistently across all 50 athlete cards and the animation, maintaining balance, clarity, and warmth while ensuring Bumble Black was used sparingly to keep the visuals light, approachable, and full of movement.
Animation & Sound
The animation unfolds like a highlight reel — an adrenaline-fueled journey through the many worlds of women’s sports. It opens on basketball and builds momentum through tennis, soccer, lacrosse, equestrian, gymnastics, and more — each sport captured through unique motion and rhythm. Every frame bursts with energy, connecting moments of strength, agility, and grace into one continuous flow, ending with the basketball dropping cleanly through the hoop. The original music was composed to mirror that same feeling — high energy and full of adrenaline, yet light, catchy, and celebratory. Together, the sound and motion create an uplifting visual anthem that honors the spirit, diversity, and drive of women in sport.
